An exploration of Tampa, Florida's first skatepark, Bro Bowl, and its community.
This project titled "Bro Bowl" aims to explore the history of Bro Bowl and its people. While often referred to as "sketchy" by locals of other skateparks within Tampa's skate scene, photographer Zuri Moultrie's aim is to shed light on the humanity of the park, and to get to know its locals who come from all socio-economic backgrounds, races, genders and ages. By sharing the experiences of the park's diverse group of visitors through photographs and interviews, viewers have the chance to identify with the locals and associate the park with its rich history and its current character.
Zuri has come to love this park over the past couple of years that she has skated here. By subverting opinions of Bro Bowl, this project serves as Zuri's love letter to this park that has contributed to so much growth within her life.
